Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy
Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz the National
Family Safety Program (NFSP) organizes in collaboration with
the International Society for Prevention of Child Abuse and
Neglect (ISPCAN) "The 3rd Arab -ISPCAN Regional
Conference on Child Protection" between 4-7 Rabi' I 1430
(H) 1-4 March 2009 (G) at King Faisal Convention Center-
Riyadh Intercontinental Hotel. The conference carries a theme
of "Child Protection in Arab Countries: Working Together
Towards Safer Childhood".
The conference represents a unique opportunity for
professionals in different disciplines (health, social work,
mental health, and law enforcement, and education) working
with children or in the field of Child Abuse, Exploitation and
Neglect prevention, to discuss violence against children in
Arab countries. The conference also brings up to date issues in
the field of child protection. In addition, multidisciplinary and
discipline specific training courses will provided to
participants by experienced instructors.
The organizing committee had distinguished keynotes speakers
around the world invited to present their experiences in various
aspects related to child protection. The scientific program
includes many plenary sessions where scientific papers and
researches will be presented on the following topics:

- Traditional and new forms of Child Abuse and Exploitation.
- Causes and consequences of Child Abuse and Neglect.
- Prevention, intervention and rehabilitation services.
- Prevention strategies and current data collection systems.
- Enhancing role and capabilities of child protection professionals.
- Children's organizations role in preventing Child Abuse and Neglect.
Moreover, multiple discussion forums and workshops will be
concurrently conducted. Children are participating in various
activities as they are the most concerned category.
Finally, the organizing committee expresses greatest
appreciation and thanks to the participants from are countries
and the rest of the world. Also, our deepest appreciation is
extended to the different local, Arab, and international
organization who work hard to make this conference a
successful event.
